This policy describes data handling when you use vayautorent.am or contact VAY Rent a Car (Yerevan, Armenia). For privacy enquiries and requests to correct or delete data, contact contact@vayautorent.am or +374 33 336123.

Enquiries and rentals

When you complete the form and press a contact or call button, the website saves an unconfirmed enquiry: name, phone number, car, rental dates and times, pickup and return locations, CASCO choice, comment and selected contact channel. We use this to respond, agree terms and arrange a booking. An enquiry does not itself confirm a booking. Do not include passport, payment or other unnecessary personal details in the comment.

When arranging and providing a rental, we may store customer and driver details, passport and driving licence information, document copies, contracts, payment records, working notes and photos or videos of the vehicle at pickup and return. These are used to arrange the rental, check documents, record performance of the agreement and handle disputes. Do not submit bank card details through the website form.

Use and sharing of data

Access to enquiry and rental records is limited to people authorised to process them. Cloudflare provides website infrastructure, database and file hosting. To handle enquiries promptly, the enquiry details, including name, phone number, rental details and comment, may be sent to VAY representatives through Telegram. Documents and pickup/return photos and videos are not included in these notifications.

Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, email and phone links open the relevant service or app. Sending the message depends on your further actions there. These services process data under their own policies. Infrastructure and service providers may process data outside Armenia, including other countries where they operate their systems. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.

Purposes and grounds

Enquiry information is used to respond to your request and arrange a rental. Rental records are used to perform the agreement, maintain records, meet applicable legal obligations and protect the parties’ rights. Technical data supports website operation and security. Optional Google Analytics is enabled on the basis of your separate consent. Refusing analytics does not prevent browsing cars, submitting an enquiry or renting a car.

Google sign-in

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name and verified email to create your VAY account. We do not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail, Drive or contacts. Essential cookies maintain the sign-in session for up to 12 hours and protect the Google sign-in request for up to 10 minutes. This sign-in is separate from optional analytics. To request account deletion, contact us using the details below.

Google Analytics

After you press “Accept all”, the website may load Google Analytics 4. It receives information about visits and interactions: traffic source and UTM campaign, page language, selected car, photo views, opening and starting the form, contact channel and creation of a new enquiry. Events may include rental duration, CASCO choice and an estimated quote in AMD. These measure interest and enquiries, not confirmed payment.

Our analytics code does not send names, phone numbers, email addresses, documents or enquiry comments to Google. This does not mean that all analytics data is fully anonymous: Google uses cookie identifiers and processes technical device and connection information. Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small records stored in your browser. The website also uses localStorage for certain preferences. The table lists records used by the VAY application. The infrastructure provider may use additional technical mechanisms for security and website delivery.

Managing your choice

“Accept all” enables optional analytics. “Essential only” or Escape keeps it disabled. Google Analytics does not load before consent. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change your choice at any time. Refusing blocks further events and removes Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website. Withdrawal does not undo processing already performed. You can also clear cookies and localStorage in your browser settings; the website may then request your choice again.

Technical information and errors

To serve requests, prevent abuse and fix errors, the website and its infrastructure may process IP address, browser type, page path, request time, diagnostic messages and device information. The application error log is limited to the last 30 days and 10,000 events. Request bodies, documents and passwords are not intentionally recorded in that log; diagnostic messages are sanitised.

Reviews

Published reviews display the text, author name, rating, source and original review link where supplied. Contact us if you want your published review corrected or removed. Internal links to customer records and discount usage are not published.

Retention and your requests

Enquiries, rental records and documents are kept as needed to handle the enquiry, provide the rental, maintain records, meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes. This does not mean that all records are automatically deleted immediately after a rental. Backups and messages held by service providers may have separate retention periods. Cookie duration in your browser is not the same as Google’s server-side data retention.

You can request information about your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent by emailing contact@vayautorent.am. We may ask for minimal information to verify your identity. Requests are handled under applicable law: some records may need to be retained for an agreement, mandatory recordkeeping or protection of rights. Where provided by law, you may contact the competent data protection authority.

Policy updates

We update this page and the date above when website practices change. New optional analytics purposes that require consent should be presented for separate consent. Contact us by email or phone with any questions about this policy.
